● Artist guide

From first preview to your next record.

A beat should fit the song and the terms should fit the release. Use this guide to make both decisions before checkout.

01

Find a beat that leaves room for you

Browse the marketplace and listen through the full preview. Pay attention to the pocket where your verse or hook would sit, not only the first few seconds. Open the listing to see the producer, price, public reactions, and license summary together.

  • 1
    Match your delivery

Imagine your cadence over the drums and where the vocal needs space.

  • 2
    Check the producer

Open the producer profile for more work and use direct messages for questions that are not answered on the listing.

  • 3
    Compare the whole deal

Price matters, but so do the license, required credit, and whether a non-exclusive beat fits your release plan.

02

Read the license before paying

ToneLot’s standard purchase is a permanent, worldwide, non-exclusive license for one original song. You may release and monetize that song, but the producer keeps ownership of the beat and may license it to other people.

The license requires producer credit where the platform or format supports credits. It also restricts redistributing the beat by itself and using automated content-identification systems without separate written permission.

Non-exclusive means shared availability

Your licensed song is yours, but another artist may lawfully license the same underlying beat for a different song.

Checkout and download

  1. 01
Sign in to the buyer account you want on the record.

Your purchase, download access, and issued license stay connected to that ToneLot account.

  2. 02
Open the listing and review the full license.

Check the acceptance box only after reading the displayed version.

  3. 03
    Complete the secure Stripe checkout.

ToneLot does not ask you to send card information through messages.

  4. 04
Return to ToneLot after confirmed payment.

The full beat download and license record become available when payment fulfillment completes.

04

After the purchase

Keep the issued license with your project files. Credit the producer where credits are supported, and contact them if you want stems, custom production, different terms, or permission for a use that the standard license does not cover.

Do not upload or sell the beat by itself. Do not represent yourself as the producer, and do not use the song to issue automated claims against the producer or another lawful license holder.

05

If something goes wrong

First, confirm you are signed into the same ToneLot account used at checkout. Check Purchases and reopen the beat listing. If access is still missing, contact support with the beat URL and the safe payment reference shown on screen.
